Ricardo was born in the north of Chile and has degrees in Social Communication, Journalism and a master’s in Management. He worked as a political journalist
in Santiago, Chile, until 2001 when he decided to immigrate to the United States looking for new opportunities. Since then he has done all kinds of work
including dishwashing and waiting tables which helped him to see the inequalities that immigrants suffer and which inspired him to work in the non-profit sector.
Ricardo has supported the arts as a volunteer with New Haven’s International Festival of Arts and Ideas and as a board member with the Arts Council of Greater
New Haven. He lives in Spring Glen and writes a Hamden-inspired blog called Hamden’s Guide to the Galaxy.
