Emily Bett
Painter and printmaker with a penchant for common themes and bright colors, Bett studied at the Art Institute of Chicago and Carnegie-Mellon University and holds a B.F.A from the University of Chicago and an M.F.A. from Southern Connecticut State University. She has twice served as treasurer of the New Haven Paint & Clay Club and has been a board member of the Hamden Art League. She co-founded and taught at the Hamden-based Center for Arts and Crafts which provided instruction and encouragement to budding artists in the Hamden area. She has received over sixty awards from regional and national art competitions. Her work is in many private and corporate permanent collections including the Yale-New Haven Hospital, the Connecticut Collection of the University of Connecticut, and the Clay Club Permanent Collection.
