Donald Hall
The U.S. Poet Laureate (2006) started life in 1928 in Hamden and proceeded quickly into his equally notable careers as an editor and poet. Fifteen books of poetry, biographies, memoirs, short stories and children’s books later, he is regarded in literary circles as an American original.
