Vesna Mehinovic

Mehinovic distinguished herself in Bosnia-Herzegovina winning numerous student choir and music competitions. She earned a degree from Sarajevo’s Academy of Music and a Master of Arts degree from Wesleyan University and has since established herself as a conductor, music director, pianist and vocal accompanist. She served as principal conductor of the Radio and Television Orchestra of Sarajevo while also making guest appearances with orchestras in Mostar, Belgrade, Zagreb and Graz, Austria. Since arriving in the United States she has conducted the Greater Waterbury Youth Symphony and the Hamden Symphony Orchestra. Mehinovic was the first female conductor of an orchestra in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
