Steve Rodgers
Singer/songwriter, co-founder of the Mighty Purple rock band, former busboy/dishwasher at Mario‘s Pizza and 1992 Hamden High grad, Rodgers and his brother, Jonny, have produced ten albums (1993-2008) and performed 2,000 shows with the group. Mixed into his passion for music are equal commitments to social concerns including fundraising for the National Environmental Law Center, student outreach leader for Youth with a Mission, and leader of a group that worked with Bosnian children affected by war. He is the founder and proprietor of The Space (2003) and Outer Space (2011), both music venues in Hamden that support local, national and international independent music performers. Little known fact: Rodgers is an HO model train aficionado who‘s built a 700 sq. ft. railroad in his Hamden basement. He is also the music director at St. Paul‘s Church (Westport).
