Dorcas MacClintock

Naturalist, author, conservationist and artist MacClintock has written ten books on natural history subjects as well as pursued her art in sculpture working primarily in plasteline for bronze. She is a Smith College graduate with a zoology master’s degree from the University of Wyoming. Her sculptures have appeared in museums and galleries throughout the U.S. and Canada and are included in several private collections. A curatorial affiliate of Yale’s Peabody Museum, MacClintock has received the Bott-Borgi-Bransom Legacy Award (2007), the Anna Hyatt Huntington Award (2006), the Smith College Medal (1987), and the Science Book Award of the New York Academy of Science (1974).
