Fred Parris

Long-time Hamden resident and singer/songwriter, Parris is the composer and lead singer of “In the Still of the Night,” considered by many to be the seminal doo wop love song. It was recorded February 19, 1956 in the basement of St. Bernadette’s Church in Morris Cove. He and the Five Satins were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2003.
