Shawn Persinger

Persinger is a music teacher, composer, writer and performer with several solo/guitar albums, several ensemble and compilation albums, three film/poetry soundtracks and six instructional books to his credit. His innovative playing and compositions have been recognized by the New Haven Advocate Reader’s Polls, as a nominee for Contemporary Folk Instrumentalist by the Washington Area Music Awards, and as a featured artist on National Public Radio’s (NPR) Acoustic Caf� among others. Since 1999 he has performed over 1000 solo and ensemble tour dates in thirty-six countries on five continents. He originated the Modern Primitive Guitar method of composing and playing. A graduate of the Musician’s Institute of Los Angeles, CA, he is also a contributing writer for the Taylor Guitars magazine Wood & Steel. He performs locally and has supported fundraisers and developed programs for the YMCA.
