James Atkinson

Hamden Public Schools alumnus Atkinson is artistic and executive director of the Classical Contemporary Ballet Theatre (CCBT). He earned a B.A. from the SUNY Purchase College Conservatory of Dance and a M.F.A. from the Tisch School of the Arts (NYU). He debuted professionally with the Dance Theatre of Harlem and has performed as a company member with Ballet British Columbia, Compania de Danza Contemporanea de Burgos (Spain), Sacramento Ballet, Capacitor, the Oakland Ballet, and the Jose Mateo Ballet Theatre in Boston.
