Shirley Fracasso
Fracasso is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran who served as an illustrator for the “Windsock,” the military base newspaper at Cherry Point, North Carolina during the Korean War. She studied at the John Mcrady School of Fine Arts on Bourbon Street in New Orleans and worked over twenty years at the Hamden Public Library where she specialized in display and poster work for which she was honored by the State Library Association. She has been a member of the Mt. Carmel Art Association/Hamden Art League for thirty years. Fracasso’s floral paintings have been in virtually all its exhibits and many have been honored with awards.
